We went over the upcoming paper and also discussed some design aspects we each felt the BLCS needed.  We all had similar ideas on how the interface should look and what we thought was the best way to design the database.

We met up on Sunday afternoon to discuss the presentation Richard is going to give on Monday. We also started to discuss aspects of how the BLCS should look and feel. We will probably design a few examples and then discuss with Dr. Rotter which one is most like what he had in mind and if there is anything that he would like to add or remove.

On monday we had our first face-to-face meeting with Dr. Rotter. It was a pretty quick, informal meeting during which he explained the business language certificate program to us and we asked him a bunch of questions.

Some things we cleared up included:

–Verifying the requirements listed in the coursepack

–Clarifying the different user roles, e.g. administrator vs. sub-administrator

–Was it possible for people to complete the program in multiple languages? (yes)

–What he wanted the app to look like in general. (Fit into the umw website feel, it should eventually go into the modern foriegn language section of umw.edu)

–And more things i’m sure, but this is what i can remember off the top of my head, other group members can add to this post.

as of right now we are scheduled to meet with Professor Rotter on Monday at 2pm in his office. If one of us can’t make it, post it or let the rest of us know as soon as you can. He mentioned being able to meet from 2-6 on any day but Thursday(with appointment) so just something to keep in mind.

We have a working Blog.

In addition, we have sent an email to Dr. Rotter and expect to arrange a meeting at some point in time probably.
